“I wish I were an angel. I would fly above the demons. Soar like an eagle.
I wish I were the joy people need. I would go to every person. Even the unhappy and unfreed.”

Documentary
Filming in France starting February 15th
World Champion Oksana Kozyna is a modern-day superhero. Upon birth in Ukraine, she was diagnosed with an anomaly in her leg that caused her not to develop a fibula bone. Due to her disability, Oksana grew up in a special needs orphanage. Regardless of her circumstances, Oksana never gave up and always believed she could do the impossible. In her early 20’s, she graduated from the Institute of Physical Education and began training as a professional athlete. After receiving a state-of-the-art prosthetic leg, Oksana began competing in paraplegic badminton tournaments around the world. In 2022, the Russian invasion of Ukraine threatened to end her dreams for good. She continued to practice with her coach even as bomb sirens were sounding. Oksana was forced to flee as not only a safety precaution but so she could continue competing in badminton tournaments for Ukraine. Now on a global platform, Oksana’s voice represents the people of Ukraine, the paraplegic community, and women in sports. Oksana understands her mission and has no fear of speaking up for those in need of inspiration and encouragement.

Godawari Education Center
Nepal is considered one of the world’s poorest countries, with almost a third of the population living below the poverty line. Many regions in the country are lacking in basic education, nutrition, and medical care. Devastating earthquakes in Kathmandu in 2015 pushed 1 million people into severe poverty due to lack of aid, and restoration within communities has been extremely slow. Many family members are forced to travel to other countries to find work, and trafficking is not uncommon. With few jobs available and a desperate need for money for the basics of life, the buying and selling of individuals for both labor and sex trade is a huge problem. The work of NMCN is critical to providing children with the resources needed to turn the tide. Not only is Godawari Education Center actively working to care for children and provide long-term services to help preserve families, but it is also diligent in its efforts to safeguard those children from trafficking and sexual exploitation.
